Brent McWilliams hails from Dallas, Texas. He is a conductor, accompanist, vocal coach, organist, composer and arranger. He received a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance with an emphasis in Accompanying and Pedagogy from Texas Tech University. He then studied at Southern Methodist University and received a Master of Music degree in Vocal Coaching and Collaborative Piano. He also received a Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Liturgy and Music from St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, Indiana. Brent has served in parishes in Texas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Alabama. He has also served as a Staff Accompanist/Vocal Coach for Texas Tech University and Samford University. He is a published composer and arranger through GIA Publications. His choirs have performed in Canada, Italy, France, Spain, the Czech Republic and Austria as well as for various diocesan events and national conferences. He has also presented workshops on Liturgical and Musical topics for the Diocese of Lubbock and Dallas as well as at the national conferences of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians. He is a certified Cantor Trainer for NPM and has served on various committees and boards on the national level. Brent is also a member of the Liturgical Composers Forum. He has also been trained as a Stephen’s Minister. Brent interests include food, travel and exploring new cultures and building bridges between cultures.
